Support

MultiCAM support is for workshops that need steady cutting, clear advice and fast help when a machine is off line. From Germiston to Cape Town, we help fabricators keep CNC routers, tooling and dust systems working as they should.

Getting the right support from day one

Good CNC work starts with the right setup. Our support team helps with machine selection, site checks and practical advice before installation so your router fits the job, the floor space and the power available. In many South African workshops, that means planning around load-shedding, dust control and the reality of mixed production days.

Whether you are cutting MDF, acrylic, plywood or soft aluminium, we look at the whole workflow not only the machine. That includes vacuum hold down, tooling choice, extraction, controller settings and the way operators move parts through the shop. Small issues in setup can cost hours later, so we aim to catch them early.

Installation and commissioning support

Our installation and commissioning work is handled by people who know the day-to-day pressure of a busy workshop. We assist with placement, levelling, power checks and first-run tests so the machine starts in a proper working condition. If a unit needs to move between sites, we can manage relocation and recommissioning too.

  • Machine installation and machine relocation
  • Commissioning and first cut checks
  • Dust system balancing and airflow checks
  • Controller backups before production starts

For Gauteng sites in particular, we also help with practical access planning and equipment positioning. A good installation saves time later and reduces the risk of vibration, poor cut quality or unexpected downtime.

Maintenance that keeps production moving

Preventive maintenance is often the difference between a calm week and a missed delivery. We support routine servicing on CNC routers and related systems, including spindle service, vacuum leak checks and general machine condition inspections. Coastal humidity can affect parts in Durban and Cape Town while dust in inland shops can work its way into bearings, filters and cable tracks, so each site needs a sensible maintenance plan.

Our service coordinator helps arrange visits around your production schedule. If a workshop is running close to a deadline, we can prioritise checks that protect uptime first, then plan follow-up work where needed.

Training for operators and supervisors

Even a well set up machine can underperform if the team is not confident on the controls. We provide operator training that covers safe daily use, tool changes, basic fault checks and file handling. For supervisors, we can also go through controller backups, job setup routines and simple process checks that make shift handovers easier.

  • Operator training on safe daily use
  • Tooling setup and basic cut quality checks
  • Controller backups and recovery steps
  • Practical advice for handling common faults

This support is especially useful where staff changes are frequent or where one person has been carrying all the machine knowledge. A trained team works faster and makes fewer avoidable mistakes, even on busy days.

Tooling and application guidance

Cutting cleanly is not only about the router. Tool geometry, spindle speed, feed rate and material choice all matter. Our applications specialist and parts and tooling lead help clients choose the right tooling for wood, plastics and soft metals, then set it up in a way that suits their work.

We give clear notes on what to use for nesting, profile cuts, engraving and deeper pocketing, without overcomplicating it. That kind of guidance is useful for sign shops, furniture makers and fabrication teams that need dependable results and less waste. A small change in tool path or vacuum setup can save a lot of scrap.

Where we support workshops

MultiCAM support is based in Germiston with reach across South Africa. We work with clients in Johannesburg East, Midrand, Pretoria East, Durban North and Cape Town North, as well as other towns and industrial areas by arrangement. Local knowledge helps when there are municipal rules, site access limits or power issues to plan around.

If your workshop needs help with a new machine, an existing line or a stubborn cutting issue, our team can step in and get the basics sorted. You can send us a message through our contact form and we will direct your request to the right person.
